Meet Us!
Say hello to our cast members…
Lynn Draper – Owner
Lynn is the proud owner of Storybook Theatre of Texas. Since founding the company in 1991, she has performed in theaters, schools, libraries, and more throughout the United States and China!
Yes, China, Texas, and China the country! What an awesome privilege to be the first Americans to perform for the 4th Annual China Children’s Festival and the Beijing Children’s Theater.
Her specialized talents in theatre arts, music, and creative writing have contributed to Storybook Theatre becoming one of the country’s most sought-after traveling children’s theatre groups. Her favorite role outside of Storybook Theatre was when she played ”Tzietel” in “Fiddler on the Roof.” Among her accomplishments are playwright, director, artist, singer, manager, and business owner. Lynn believes she has been gifted by her creator to be able to do all the things she has accomplished over these many years of encouraging young people to read and make good choices. She gives all glory to Jesus Christ, her Lord, and Savior!
Jan Russell
Jan’s life before Storybook Theatre included an accounting degree from Stephen F. Austin and working as an oil and gas company accountant. She spent twenty years as an Air Force wife, raising two sons. Volunteering at schools and churches, singing and acting in various venues, and directing a children’s choir in Oklahoma was a lifestyle for Jan. Because her favorite motto has always been, “Bloom where you are planted,” she wore many hats over the years. Music and theater have always been a big part of her life, and once she started working with Storybook Theatre in 2003, she felt she had found her true calling.
Linda Goldfarb
Linda began her career with Storybook Theatre in 1995, but her theatric life started when she was a child, singing at family gatherings, speaking in multiple dialects, and acting up every chance she could. In November 2001, Linda’s weekly 1-hour radio show, Not Just Talkin’ the Talk, debuted and grew to a global reach over the next ten years. Today, in addition to performing with SBTI, Linda is an award-winning author, scriptwriter, audiobook narrator, international speaker, certified personality expert, and board-certified professional life coach. Wife of Sam, mother to four adult children with many amazing grandchildren, Linda loves the life her Lord Jesus has given her.
Christie Smith
Christie is a retired teacher with thirty years of experience teaching every class imaginable. Her ability to write and direct her class’s annual musical productions won the respect of co-workers and parents as well. Christie has performed in several musicals and dramas at the Circle Arts Theater in New Braunfels, TX, and has been an active participant in her church’s choir and musical productions.
Monica Clegg
Monica Clegg is a seasoned actress performing on stage and in film. In addition to her work with Storybook Theatre, Monica has taught elementary, middle school, and high school acting and dance. She currently teaches TV/Film and drama classes at a local studio and leads dramatic productions at her church. When not performing, Monica enjoys cooking, canning, and crafting. She can often be found manning a craft show booth with her husband, Bill, or her son, Garrett.
Stephanie Phelps
Stephanie has been performing with Storybook Theatre since 2012. Favorite credits outside of Storybook include Maggie in the film, Heartset, Dr. Lutz in A Zombie Musical, and Martha in The Secret Garden.
