Frequently Asked Questions
What does our facility need to provide?
Unless air travel is required, Storybook Theatre International provides for all their A/V needs (Sound system, microphone, full set with props). All you need to provide is electricity and bottled water (if possible). Storybook Theatre International may make use of your projector and screen for the evening family night programs.
How long are the programs and how many can Storybook Theatre International do in a day?
A full-day visit usually consists of four, 30-45 min. programs. You may also opt for additional, family night programs, including Two Pigs and THE Wolf, The New Little Red Riding Hood, and Cooking Up Fun with Idioms.
What ages does Storybook Theatre International work with?
Storybook Theatre International offers a variety of programs to accommodate PreK to 5th grade and Family Nights.
How should we divide the groups? What’s the maximum audience size?
This depends on your venue. Theaters/Performing Arts Centers often have seating for 500-1000 and we can work with that. School venues vary, dependent on their seating capacity. We recommend 250 students per program for best viewing and interaction.
A few notes:
It’s tempting to have BIGGER groups with the younger students because their bodies are smaller. However, we desire your students have the best experience and potential for learning from our programs. You’ll find Storybook Theatre’s stories are interactive, inviting the students to participate on and off stage.
Combining grades less than 2-3 years apart at any given show is recommended (For example pre-K with Kinder and 1st is fine).
In-school groups are best limited to 250 students per show unless they have express permission from Lynn. Please see, How much does it cost section, below.
We’re a school so where should we have the shows?
A stage works best. If not cafeterias, gyms, performance halls, or extra-large classrooms work fine, too. Our preferred number per performance is up to 250 students. Larger groups will incur an additional fee and if possible a stage to assure everyone can see.
How much does it cost?
This varies widely depending on venue, location, time of year, size of the audience and many more factors. Please contact Lynn and she’ll be happy to provide a quick and easy quote for your event.
How long does it take to set up?
It takes about 60-minutes for set-up. [striking the set (take-down) is usually less time]
Is Storybook Theatre International right for our group or event?
Performing arts centers, elementary school programs, public libraries, and theatres work best. Storybook Theatre International does not perform outdoors.
